Size: up to 210 mm

Description: head and limbs are greyish with yellow stripes; carapace is dark brown

Habitat: slow-moving and standing freshwater bodies with dense aquatic vegetation

Activity: diurnal, hibernation takes place from November to February

Diet: plants, invertebrates and small vertebrates

Reproduction: oviparous
