Distribution: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Russia, Turkey, Turkmenistan

Size: up to 250 mm

Description: upperside olive-brown or green with five longitudinal light stripes on the back and flanks; head, throat and flanks of males turn blue in breeding period

Habitat: semi deserts, lowland and montane steppes, coastal dunes and pastures

Activity: diurnal

Diet: various invertebrates

Reproduction: oviparous
