Common name: the Blue-throated Keeled Lizard

Distribution: Albania, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Croatia, Greece, Macedonia, Montenegro, Italy

Size: up to 250 mm

Description: upperside varies from light brown to rusty brown with a pattern of black dots, dots are absent in females outside the breeding period; flanks are orange; underside varies from white to yellowish, males have bright blue throat during the breeding period

Habitat: open woodlands, scrubland, hedges, bushes and urban areas

Activity: diurnal

Diet: various invertebrates

Reproduction: oviparous
