Distribution: Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam

Size: up to 50-80 mm

Description: adults coloration varies from pale brown to dark brown with four stripes on the back

Habitat: occurs in wetlands, forests and urban areas

Activity: nocturnal

Diet: various invertebrates

Reproduction: breeding period is restricted to the wet season, but can be year-round in some parts of the range. Eggs are laid into foamy mass attached to leaves or branches above the water
