Common name: the Long-legged Wood Frog

Distribution: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Russia, Turkey, Turkmenistan

Size: up to 90 mm

Description: upperside coloration varies from orange-pinkish to brown with dark spots that vary in number, size and arrangement; underside is red, pink or orange-red

Habitat: near permanent water sources in broadleaved, mixed and coniferous forests, swamps, steppes, subalpine and alpine meadows

Activity: diurnal and nocturnal

Diet: various invertebrates

Reproduction: breeding period lasts from April to May
